I'm Sick...boooo.

This is what I get for announcing to anyone and everyone that I think I'm immune from all sicknesses because I teach 2nd grade. This is also what I get for getting that darn flu shot. I have never gotten a flu shot, therefore I don't recall the last time I got the flu.... oh wait I got one in September and now I have the flu. I have taken three days off of work, which is not easy when you teach 2nd grade. Monday, at about 12:30 am, I woke up freezing, but sweating, and had a 102 degree temp. I immediately put in for a sub. I went into school at about 6am so only the janitor could see me looking like a hot mess, did my sub plans and went home to lay on the couch all day. The only good thing about the flu is that I got to catch up on all my reality t.v. My wonderful mother made me a doctor appointment for Tuesday afternoon, so again I called in a sub, but this time I called in for the sub for both Tuesday and Wednesday. I went back to school Tuesday at 6am to do sub plans and then back home. I went to my doctor appointment, where they made me wear one of those mask things (I felt like I was carrying the most deadliest disease ever), only to find out that I must have one of the types of flu that the shot doesn't cover....yes those are the words straight from the doctors mouth. I was also checked for strep...negative result... and told to take one more day off of work. So here I sit, thinking I should write a thank you letter to Tylenol for creating their AM/PM cold medicine, and I have also decided that I am skipping the flu shot next year.

Drink lots of fluids and wash your hands all the time, because being sick is awful!

Ugh... every day I wake up and wonder if today's the day I'm going to get sick. It seems like EVERYONE is! No fun!
