Blame it on the holidays!

We have been so busy with work, school, the holidays, shopping, parties, competitions, etc. we forgot to take some belly pictures :0( But we did take belly pictures for weeks 27, 30 and 31! As of yesterday I am now 31 weeks!!! In the last five weeks I have grown and grown! Last week we went to baby school (which ended up getting canceled so now we won't go until January 16th), had two doctor appointments, interviewed pediatricians, and preregistered at the hospital! Our doctor appointments all went really well! Carter has evened out since our last appointment (thank goodness)! He is now predicted at being 8 lbs and not 8 lbs 12 oz, he is also coming in at the 70th percentile and not the 78th percentile and is measuring a week and two days early instead of two weeks and four days early!

At week 31 Carter's growth begins to slow a teeny bit, and the brain goes through a period of rapid development. The only major organ left to fully develop is the lungs. His irises now react to light, and all five senses are in working order. (He won't pick up anything from his nose until after birth, though -- smell is transferred through air, not amniotic fluid.)

Carter received a bunch of little gifts this Christmas, a mattress from Matt and I, and a glider from my parents!

On January 2nd we are taking maternity pictures!! I cannot wait
for Ms. Laura Meeks to capture us once again!! I am just hoping for some snow for our outside pictures!
